October 19, 2024 – NLS 5 at Nürburgring. Arriving at the track just in time for the qualifying sessions, I was greeted by the famously unpredictable Eifel weather. Drizzle, fog, patches of sunshine, and bursts of rain rotated in quick succession, creating a dramatic backdrop for the day’s action. The constant shifts in weather made things challenging but also provided a variety of lighting conditions, each moment offering something different for the lens to capture.

I was there only for the morning—from 8:30 to 11:45—and my main focus was testing out my new lens: the Tamron SP 150-600mm on my Canon EOS R6. It’s still new to me, and while it performed well overall, I’m learning that I need more practice to make the most of its capabilities. The lens could be faster, but for what I shoot, it’s a solid fit.

Despite not covering all the cars, I managed to grab some great shots—both in the pit lane and on the Nordschleife. Watching the teams and drivers prepare for the race was a thrill, as always. There’s something special about Nürburgring, a unique energy that pulses through the air. The atmosphere was electric, and the ever-changing weather only added to the drama.

Enjoy some of my favorite moments from that morning!
