It’s been a while since I last shot some proper local drifting action, so when I found out the Baltic Drift Championship was making a stop in Estonia and at my favourite local circuit, Laitse Rally Park, I couldn’t pass it up.
The track has always been a photographer’s dream: compact, with plenty of great angles and close-up action. That said, things have changed a bit: safety regulations have tightened, and unfortunately, there’s no longer a proper way to shoot the famous jump. Still, the energy and layout of Laitse make it one of the most engaging drift venues in the region.
It was also great to see that all three Baltic states showed up strong, not just on the grid, but on the podium too. Benediktas Čirba (Lithuania), Jānis Bērziņš (Latvia), and Siim Oskar Hääl (Estonia) each represented their country with style and skill, showing just how competitive and balanced the Baltic drift scene has become.
Scroll on for a visual recap from a smoke-filled, sideways weekend at Laitse.
